Emanuel Bojórquez-Quintal, born in 1983 at Yucatan, Mexico, is CONACYT-Professor assigned to the Laboratorio de Análisis y Diagnóstico del Patrimonio (LADiPA) of El Colegio de Michoacán A.C. (COLMICH). Member of the National System of Researchers (Mexico): Candidate Level 2017-2019.

Academic training: Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Biologist and Bromatologist from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatan (UADY); a master’s degree and a PhD in Plant Biological Sciences (Option: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) by the Centro de Investigación Científica de Yucatán A.C. (CICY).

During the last years he has been involved in the Research in Biological Sciences of Plants within the plant-environment interaction line, specifically in tolerance to abiotic stress and the transport mechanisms of ions (essential and toxic elements); line of research where he has published seven scientific articles as first author in peer-reviewed and indexed journals of high impact as Frontiers in Plant Science, magazine where he has participated as an arbiter in publications.

Currently develops the project Design of restoration products from organic materials present in cultural heritage through the extraction and characterization of organic materials (plants, animals and microorganisms), the development of methodologies for the study and identification of organic materials present in heritage objects and the development and evaluation of new restoration products; applying the knowledge of biological sciences to the study of cultural heritage.
