Alison Castaneda holds a M.A. in Fashion and Textile Studies from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is an associate member of the American Institute of Conservation and is the author of multiple posters and presentations, involving synthetic leather, an Islamic talismanic shirt, the Winnie-the-Pooh toys, and the degradation of iron-tan are dyed textiles. She has interned at the New York Historical Society and the Textile Conservation Laboratory at St. John the Divine. From 2010-2017 she worked at the Textile Conservation Workshop in South Salem, NY and in 2018 completed a Kress Conservation Fellowship at The Textile Museum in Washington, D.C. She is currently the Associate Conservator at the Museum at FIT.
