Jennifer L. Cruise, Ph.D., MA Cons. originally trained as a scientist, taught cellular and molecular biology at the university level, and directed a small research laboratory. She entered conservation as a volunteer assistant in the conservation department of the Minnesota Historical Society, in St. Paul, studied at the Campbell Center for Historic Preservation Studies in Illinois, and obtained an M.A. in the Conservation of Historic Objects from the University of Lincoln, in the United Kingdom, in 2011, during which training she interned with conservators of the U.K. National Trust. Her particular interests are in textiles and ethnographic object conservation, and in the interface between science and conservation.  She currently serves as wiki editor for the TSG.
