I earned a BA in chemistry from the University of Louisville in 2012 and am now a Ph.D. candidate in chemistry at Portland State University, working in the lab of Dr. Tami Lasseter Clare. My research focuses on detecting and identifying unknown colorants on 18th c. Japanese prints using Raman spectroscopy. I am also working to develop a method of detection for early metal corrosion products using fluorescence and electrochemical techniques.
